Naomi Hutchings, clinical sexologist

Welcome, and thank you for the work you do supporting the health and wellbeing of your patients.

My name is Naomi Hutchings, and I am a clinical sexologist with over twenty years of experience working in the field of human sexuality, relationships and psychosexual therapy.

I work with individuals and couples experiencing sexual and relationship concerns that are often difficult to address in standard medical consultations. My role is to provide specialised support that complements the care already being provided by GPs and allied health professionals.

I now work fully online, allowing clients across Australia, including those in rural and regional communities, to access specialised sexology support.

Meet Naomi.

When to Consider Referring a Patient

Patients may benefit from specialised sexology support when experiencing:

  • Sexual pain conditions (including vaginismus)
  • Erectile concerns
  • Persistent low sexual desire
  • Mismatched libido within relationships
  • Difficulty achieving orgasm
  • Sexual anxiety or shame
  • Gender identity exploration
  • Relationship communication challenges
  • Infidelity recovery
  • Opening or restructuring relationships
  • Intimacy challenges following illness or life transitions
  • Support following sexual trauma
  • Relationship dynamics where one or more partners are autistic, ADHD or AuDHD

This list is not exhaustive. Many patients benefit from having a safe, structured space to discuss sexual and relational concerns.

Working with Health Professionals

I regularly collaborate with GPs, psychologists, pelvic health physiotherapists and other allied health professionals to support patients experiencing sexual and relationship concerns.

Where appropriate and with client consent, I am happy to communicate with referring practitioners to support coordinated care.

My work is designed to complement the important medical and psychological care already being provided by health professionals.

I would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land that I live and work on, the land of the Turrbal and Yaggera people. I respect their cultural, spiritual and economic relationship with their country. I acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. I acknowledge and pay respect to the Elders of this land, past and present. Australia is and always has been Aboriginal land.
